Who we are
We built Clawra because we’ve seen, firsthand, that disputes don’t begin with facts. They begin with tone.
One sentence. One misworded email. That’s often all it takes to break trust, escalate conflict, or even trigger litigation. We’ve mediated those moments. We’ve studied them. And now, we’ve built a tool to help prevent them.
Clawra began as a collaboration between a legal engineer and a government mediator — two people from different worlds, both shaped by the same insight: emotional intelligence matters just as much as legal precision.
We’re proud to be:
National Top 3 Finalists in the U.S. Legal Innovation Tournament
Partners with the New York State Dispute Resolution Association, using real-world mediator data to train and test Clawra in live ADR contexts
Research collaborators with the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law Center on Negotiation, Mediation, and Restorative Justice, where Clawra’s foundational model, ALFI, was born
Backed by experience:
One of us is a Yale-published legal researcher and engineer
The other, a trained mediator and former government officer with real dispute resolution experience in the public sector
We didn’t start with AI. We started with people.
With the pain of misunderstandings. The cost of poor tone. The need for something better.
Clawra isn’t a grammar checker. It’s a communication assistant built to protect clarity, fairness, and human connection — especially when the stakes are high.
We’re building the emotional intelligence layer for professional writing.
Because one message can break trust.
Clawra makes sure it doesn’t.
